This course provides a comprehensive introduction to assessment practices in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Participants will learn how to gather, interpret, and use assessment information to identify meaningful behavioral, developmental, and skill-acquisition needs. The course covers indirect and direct assessment methods, descriptive assessments, functional behavior assessments, preference assessments, and skills assessments. Emphasis is placed on objective data collection, behavioral measurement, functional analysis, and data-informed decision-making. Participants will learn how to translate assessment findings into meaningful treatment goals and individualized intervention plans while considering ethical practice, client dignity, cultural responsiveness, and socially significant outcomes. Through practical examples and case-based activities, learners will develop the foundational skills needed to conduct and interpret ABA assessments effectively.
